Swallowing Stones by Joyce Mcdonald is a suspenseful  book about an accident that happened in Briarwood. When Michael shot off his winchester rifle on July 4th, showing it off to his best friend. He didn’t think that it would have killed anyone he thought it would just go straight back down. Little did he know he had taken a man’s life after he shot it. He killed Charlie Ward while he was up on the roof fixing it when all the sudden he got struck in the head by the bullet Michael Mckenzie had shot in in the air not knowing where it would go. When Michael hears about what he accidentally did he immediately know what he has done. He then goes and hides the evidence which make the situation a whole lot worse because he does other illegals things which just adds up the the things he has already done. The cops then try and find out who did it and narrowed it down to Michael’s neighborhood. The cops go and ask all the family questions and when they finally got to Michael’s house Michael had already buried and hid the gun. They ask the family if they have any guns and the fathers tells him the guns they have. Then  soon him and his best friends are lying about everything they have done. Michael works at the community pool and see jenna there all the time and decides that he is gonna tell jenna and the cops what he did. Jenna is asleep in the ghost tree casue she feels safe and peace there. Michael then waits till she wakes up he then heads over to the ghost tree to wait till she’s awakens. He finally goes over there and sees that jenna is sleeping there. He then puts the gun that had accidently killed her father under a rock and wait till she wakes up. Then it ended there! Never told you what happen and I think that she should have written more to give us more details about what the ending was like or write another book that goes along with it.
